That"s a real nice guitar with simplistic beauty! The P-90 pick ups have a magic tone to them that have stood the test of time throughout the rock of ages.:headbang:

Thanks guys. This one is really special (no punn intended) to me. 2001 was a big year for me. First year i got a guitar (ok, christmas of 2000 but close enough), first ozzfest (which was my first concert), and the year my grandmother passed.
So lucky to have those memories. And now this axe brings them back. The year doesn’t make me think of my grandmoms death, but her life, and how, that year, she encouraged me to play guitar.

this is going to sound weird, but the sentiments you attach to the guitar will actually make it sound better.
your memories will subconsciously inspire you to play that little bit crisper on this instrument relative to others, which will make this guitar sound just that little bit better than the rest.

Thanks so much for the positive posts guys. The strat is actually a “k-line springfield”- an amazing sounding guitar w/ lollar pups. I don’t play it enough. May pick it up in a few.
Yes, pre-obournes (tv show) ozzfests were complete insanity. I really miss those days!!

This guitar is great but has one problem— bends fret out anywhere past the 17th fret on the high e. Gonna need to have the frets leveled. Fortunately, i know a guy who does good work. It’s really fine because they dropped the price by $50 two days before i was planning to buy it anyway. So that’ll eat most of the expense. Although, that was my justification for springing on a case. Oh, well.

At first I was gonna say I'm not exactly in love with the color but as I think about it, it does look nice still! It's a nice warm chocolatey brown without being too dark or too light.

I got an American strat when my grandmother passed away, she didn't have to leave me anything from her estate but left me a little cash which I used on that! Killed me, really killed me when I had to sell that one to pay rent one month when things got really bad with the roommate and they left me to keep up the lease.
