NGD the axis has landed

Re: NGD the axis has landed

i 100% agree that this should have been sent back immediately. but... its easier to either fix it in house or send it home with the user who may not bring up the issue for a variety of reasons. if i had that guitar and i could spend ten minutes to correct it, i would just do it only because i dont want my new toy to be gone for a weeks while someone else does it

Re: NGD the axis has landed

This guitar is way too nice to have these problems.
But I agree that if you can easily fix it by adjusting the neck, it’s worth a shot.
If not, I’d send it back for a replacement or factory repair.

Re: NGD the axis has landed

I reset the neck late last night. Everything lined up much better. I’m going to spend a few more days making sure I bond with it. The neck is so smooth I have to get used to it. The nut width and radius are new for me as well. I’m used to the 1 11/16 with 12” or flatter radius.

Re: NGD the axis has landed

FWIW, I have had to tweak the neck in the pocket on the majority of Fenders I've owned, even a $2000 one. Manufacturers have never really been pressed by retailers on the issue. I usually don't even bother loosening the neck before doing it any more (but I did slightly loosen the screws first on my more expensive ones with brittle lacquer finishes – but I didn't loosen the strings).
