NGD: The waiting is hardest part

Wattage

High Voltologist
'96 Mosrite of Classics Mk II never played best anyone can tell, has been kept in storage since new.

Waiting on the pawnshop hold to lift.......I can hear my brain cells:eyecrazy:

Made in Japan by Fillmore when they owned the Mosrite name. Interesting pickups not quite Mosrite pups but they have vibe best I can tell from trying it out. needs new strings and a fret polish but otherwise an absolute cherry closet find. I am stupid psyched! R/W/B Buck Owens finish in a MKII, this is like Aceman getting his Budokan to me.

Two guitar brands I need to get acquainted with: Mosrite and Rickenbacker. Love the finish on that one.

Embrace the odd, the obscure and the finicky :jester:

I just did a setup for a customer on a gorgeous Ric 360 in Fireglo. Similar situation, it's an '86 and rarely played. Might be the nicest Ric I ever played, got me gassing for a 620 again.

Re: NGD: The waiting is hardest part

That is sweet Scott, and what are the chances of finding an unplayed 22 year old guitar that is a grail guitar for you? I'm really happy for you that you've found it. I hope the pawn hold comes off smoothly and that you get it soon. I LOVE the paint BTW, it's killer. How long do you have to wait?

Oh, and all you need to do is route that sucker for 2 HB's and it will be perfect. I kid, I kid.

Re: NGD: The waiting is hardest part

Pick it up May 1st, a little like torture lol

I might put Mosrite Ventures II pickups in it but we'll see how it works with my stuff first. This thing still had the original hang tag on it, gonna feel a little bad playing it

Re: NGD: The waiting is hardest part

In your case, I disagree. You might always buy something in the meantime until this arrives. So no, the waiting is not the hardest part.

Where to put it? Now THAT I can see as your biggest problem...

:burnout: Sold one thing to make room already and another may be on the block shortly but you are not wrong lol

Re: NGD: The waiting is hardest part

Please tell me you're going to play Tiger By The Tail / Buck Owens on it at least once....

Re: NGD: The waiting is hardest part

Scott that axe could not possibly be more you. Congrats on the find.

Re: NGD: The waiting is hardest part

Well I picked it up Friday night and went right to rehearsal with it. 22 year old strings and needing a bit of relief it still kicked ass! lol

It spent sometime on the bench yesterday getting setup and polished and purty. Plays like a dream, the skinny neck takes a bit of getting used to but is so easy to play it feels like cheating. The pickups sound great, I should have measured the output, they seem fairly hot but they can't really be adjusted as high as I would like them. They pick up a lot of noise so the bridge is likely getting replaced with something I can gig with. Probably get something stacked but we'll see what I can get wound up.

Uncle Buck!

And it's got Bart's haircut ;)

It reminds me of a 1970 AMC Javelin.

Re: NGD: The waiting is hardest part

i don't like it, but to each their own.

( some guys are okay with you respectfully not liking thier gear, others seem to take it as a personal affront. I'm ok with it either way.The reason I say that I'm ok with it is because one of my best friends said something about my other best friend guitars, and they literally haven't spoken to each other for two years now because of that, so I do get it, but i don't agree with it, because you are welcome to say anything you want about my gear, I do not need validation-sure it's nice- and I do not hold it against anyone for not liking my gear.)
