Yes to both; it was a bad pic and it is a Blonde Unbaked Maple Neck on a Maple Body.

It could be the GROLSCH SIGNATURE LP !!!

I'm OK with that. White Melody Maker, slap a label on there, caps for knobs and grommets for locks. That would be cool.

Re: NGD there must be a 12 step program somewhere (Gibson Content)

ok its back to the shop with it
the fickle electronics are horked up

when I first picked it up in the store the neck pickup didnt work
then after fiddling with it
it worked

all weekend it was a dark and darker tone
today the neck pickup was in and out
and its bright as flock now

sounds better but flakey

there are some fret ends that need tending to as well

That's one guitar that would look and sound great with aged nickel Antiquities and the stock black rings!

I think the 12-step program for Gibson goes:

  1. Save $1000
  2. Save $1000
  3. Save $1000
  4. Save $1000
  5. Save $1000
  6. Save $1000
  7. Save $1000
  8. Save $1000
  9. Save $1000
  10. Save $1000
  11. Save $1000
  12. Buy 2 Gibsons

If you need help finding a meeting you try a local church or synagogue

Re: NGD there must be a 12 step program somewhere (Gibson Content)

I found this on Gibson's site

http://www.gibson.com/Products/Electric-Guitars/2017/USA/Les-Paul-Custom-Studio-S-Series.aspx

It seems those tens that feel like nines are nines

And it has Gibson's version of a Tusq nut

Put my black strap locks on tonight

I'm still gonna change the tuners to the planet waves

The fret ends need a bit of attention as well

Shop called said my Florentine is ready
Tech up there said he'd dress her up when I come in

I was thinking black chrome covers would look amazing

when I looked at the Gibson site specs
my guess on the weight was very close

I may get a black TP6 bridge and saddles

i was thinking of getting one for the
Florentine but
I have a new lover

with the pots and switch all dooshed out
the darkness is gone and it just sounds awesome
I just can't stop grinning while playing it

and I cant stop playing it

my cheeks hurt

Re: NGD there must be a 12 step program somewhere (Gibson Content)

Updated the Reptile

Added an appropriate tailpiece
And the JB/JAZZ set with TS rings,
I had prepared back last January when my Semihollow Ehdwuld came in

And that set of locking Grovers I had laying around

I like the way it looks now

Re: NGD there must be a 12 step program somewhere (Gibson Content)

Wow...that stop-tailpiece looks pretty cool. Now you can jam along with Tyler Morris who has the same tailpiece like on his Dean Les Paul.:headbang:

Re: NGD there must be a 12 step program somewhere (Gibson Content)

The name..."Les Paul Custom Studio"...is an oxymoron. The designation of "Custom" does not go with "Studio" at all! This guitar really has nothing in common with a LP Custom. It is a Studio with some custom features not common to a Studio, but it is NOT a "Custom"...not even close!

That being said...

I actually really like its features. Especially the ash body. Even the color.

You said that you really liked the stock pups, but then you replaced them with the JB/Jazz set. What goes? (Not that the JB/Jazz wouldn't be fantastic in that guitar).

Re: NGD there must be a 12 step program somewhere (Gibson Content)

I would be real tempted to put binding on that body. That's my main dislike of Studios...they always look like they're missing something. They look naked (not that naked is a bad thing...I rather like it even [on women anyway]).
