The McCarty is also my favorite PRS model. I like the McCarty and Singlecut because they did away with some of Mr. Smith's less favorable design ideas, and replaced them with a more Gibson-like look and feel.
I have two I love a lot. One has 50th Ann. Seth Lovers that sound great in it, although I lost the ability to split the coils. The other has a zebra C5/59, which is good, but I may go with a WLH set or bridge. The C/59 Hybrid may also sound good in the bridge.
Ted McCarty was a heck of a guy, just like Leo, Seymour, Jol Dantzig, Jim Marshall etc.
