Spotted an older Eastman AR-810 cutaway archtop on CL, and went to look at it. The guy also had a 20 year old Heritage Eagle Classic that wasn't advertised. I suggested a package deal for the pair... VIOLA! Two gorgeous beauties. Pinch me, I'm in heaven!

Sweet! I dig both of them.

What kind of $ are we talking, if you don't mind? I know it's a buyers market out there these days.

Love the look of the second one....not to say the first isn't good too. But the second is just Tux type class.

Chinese guitars have come a long way.

I have a couple of Chinese made Blueridge acoustic guitars that sound better than a lot of Martins.

Yeah don't think of Eastman as "Chinese" in the low end sense, they make first rate stuff.

Nice score, that Heritage is a beauty

SAME!!! If I was planning on getting a jazz box, THAT would be exactly what I would be turning over every rock to find. So elegant and classy. YUM!!!

That Heritage is absolutely class act. I feel like I need to be wearing a suit and tie just to look at it.

One of my jazzer pals came by yesterday and sat on the couch for an hour going back and forth between them. He said he could immediately go and gig with either of them (he has a couple L-5's and a new ES-275). The Heritage is bright, of course - the Eastman has a rounder tone. It's also a bit louder thanks to the uncut spruce top. I'm very lucky to have picked them up.

From some experience with Heritage hollows. Play the crap out it especially if it seems like it didn't get played much. That thing will start to come to life the more you use it.

I really dig the Eastman, but both are pretty remarkable. Congrats on the deal!

Update: My jazzer pal came back and offered a nice sum for the Heritage, so it's his now. I put the Eastman on the bench and lowered the action a taste at the bridge and nut, so it plays even smoother now. Not crazy about the bronze strings, but the harmonics just POP on the trebles, and between the 5th and 12th frets you can feel the neck humming. This Eastman is a GLORIOUS guitar! I think it's a keeper, especially considering I have less than a grand in it.
