I considered getting a very low-end guitar, even attempted a trade to get it almost for free, just to practice setting up, taking apart and bringing together, more complex mod-jobs than changing pups, and not fearing a heart stroke if I actually screw up the guitar in the process. I may still consider something like that but I already learned a bit, often damaging to some extent quite premium guitars in the process. Daughter is adorable, I would love to have one too, but sticking around just with guitars for the present.

She’s my granddaughter actually, and she’s definitely got her papa wrapped around her little finger! Just turned 2 last week.
She and her brother (4) belong to the 24yo daughter and live with us, so we have a very full house with never a dull moment!
Okay... I got the “showing off my grandkids” out of my system again for the moment. We now resume our guitar-related banter. [emoji12][emoji6]

The project body and neck showed up today... gonna be a fun one!
Sorry about the crap picture. The body is in pretty good shape... just some scratches and scuffs. The neck is completely unfinished but otherwise seems seems nice and straight. Frets are level and the ends just need a little finishing to be smooth.
She’s all sorts of geeked about it. After seeing the red in person she likes it and is now considering an EVH Frankenstein motif.

If you do decide to refinish that down the road, let me know because I have a white BCRich headstock decal that Ill give you. Ive had it for a long time and I prob wont use it. It can also be used as a mask. For instance, paint the headstock green. Apply the decal. Paint the headstock black, then remove the decal leaving the green. Or what have you.

That one’s a VERY cool guitar. Mrs. BriGuy bought that for me two years ago for Valentine’s Day. It’s really fun to play, but because it’s a 10 string it’s only good for certain things. Funny thing is, as badass as it looks, it sounds best played clean!

Sometimes the inspiration is in the name...Malificient is EXCELLENT!!!!!!! Let's see where we can roll with that?
First, the tuners have to suck. So let's replace them with something locking and black.
Next, need to match the bridge to the tuners. Swap it for black.
Of course, electronics are next...
Let's start with a custom set of Black Winter's in Lime Green or Lime Green/Black Zebra (optionally, Nazgul/Sentient - same colors)
Then, just for fun...throw in a Blackout Preamp. You know - a little "Black Magic"
Next...finish:
Add green and silver highlights to the bevels to match the main graphic. Like silver on the bottom of the bottom horn, then green on the big bottom half circle, then green on the bottom of the lower end, and keep alternating each corner...
Paint the neck Black, add green tiger stripes on the back
Paint the name in Black or appropriate font in one of the green body areas.
Get someone to go over the BC RICH in the same green
Get custom truss cover.
Get some thick@$$ DR Neon strings in Green (12's) and tune it to D

I’m with ya on the black locking tuners and bridge, but you forgot to mention the knobs. I’m thinking something like this...
...with THIS for the switch:
I mentioned painting it metallic red before, but I do kinda dig the black and green. I’m thinking metallic black (not sparkle, just enough to give it some “oh yeah”). Then variations of green and silver for graphics (I’ll let my 17yo artist come up with ideas).
A “tattoo” of the Maleficent picture I put up before might be kinda cool and sexy too... hmmm...
I dunno about the black/green zebras... I kinda like the black bobbins on this one, but I think some black covers might be pretty badass.
Then take up metalchurch79 on his offer of the logo and do it in green.

By the way, I took Maleficent to band practice Wednesday night, both to show the guys my new $50 guitar and to get a better idea of how she sounds through my bigger rig and with some volume. We’re a classic rock cover band, so I ended up taking some sh*t for having a Warlock, but it really sounded and played great. Cleans were much better with an amp that has more headroom and it responds really well to some dirt. Pinch harmonics come out with almost no effort and the stock pickups are actually voiced quite nicely for classic rock with just the right amount of midrange... in fact they would suck for metal! Doesn’t bother me in the least though... I’m not really a metal player.
The neck actually feels great to me and the intonation is just perfect.
Don’t know if I’ll ever play it out with the band... it’s not really the right look. However I have to admit that this guitar that I figured would just be a novelty is actually a player! [emoji1303]

Almost forgot to followup on this question... after being measured it's a 25.5" scale neck.
Actually, as I mentioned before, it seems pretty nice. Very straight and the frets are leveled nicely... the ends are okay, but just need a little filing to be great. There's no finish anywhere on it and the back and headstock will require some sanding to become perfectly smooth. The piece of rosewood for the board has a really cool and visible grain... should really pop when we get it oiled up.

Update on my daughter's project:
She has the headstock painted red and today she used automotive pinstriping tape in black, white, and chrome for the stripes. Next comes several coats of clear.
The project body and neck showed up today... gonna be a fun one!
