The boost is a 15db clean boost, I've found that it works pretty well, doesn't color the sound and can make a clean amp breakup nicely. The nice thing is that unlike full active electronics, if the battery dies the guitar still works normally, just the boost is basically turned into a kill switch.
Congrats on the new axe, mine is the best guitar I ever bought.

I had one of the 08 or 09s. I really wish I'd kept it.

Thanks, guys! It's a KILLER guitar. I've only played it through my DAW so far and it sounds ridiculous, especially all of the clean tones. Unbelievable.

We have rehearsal today so it will be going through my JCM800.

Nice guitars, formula73! Sorry you don't had to get rid of one.

Thanks everyone! I love this guitar. It smoked through the 800. It's very comfortable to play and feels like it's worth more than all of my other guitars combined. I don't know why more people don't play these guitars. It's perfect.
