So i traded my PRS Singlecut for this today, and man as much as i loved the PRS, this thing is really just on a whole 'nother level!

Here are pics:

Here is a clip:

SoundClick artist: Bulb - Hello! I am Bulb! Enjoy the tunes!

And for a quick review:
The neck is super fast and smooth, the maple fretboard is equally so making bends and vibrato very comfortable!
Im not sure what pickups are in there, they look like Dimarzios, but regardless they sound so good im almost weary of switching even the bridge out for a BKP (though i probably will just cuz haha!)
The action on the guitar is pretty much as low as my blackmachine was when i first got it, however unlike my blackmachine, this guitar has no truss rod, and does not require (or even allow you for that matter) to adjust the neck for setups, so it should stay like this unless i change it!!
I am definitely going to be using this axe both live and for recording!

Hm. There's a production mistake with it, did you get a rebate or something?

There's only six strings..

Seriously, nice score! What's up with the non-truss rod thing? Is it given that it will never pretz out?

The lack of a truss rod opening at the nut only means that it's adjusted at the heel, like old Fenders.

Awesome-looking Vigier, bulb!!

Nah, these really are completely truss-less. Crazy.

Very nice guitar bulb!

Seriously??? Wow, like the old nocasters!

<goes back, reads thread, realizes the lack of a trussrod was actually mentioned in the first post>

...sorry Tor!
:foot:

Re: NGD! Vigier Excalibur Pics and Clip!

How does the no trussrod system work? Are there any reinforcement rods?

Re: NGD! Vigier Excalibur Pics and Clip!

Yes all Vigiers have a carbon reinforcement rod in the neck. No truss rod needed it seems. I've never played one but I've never heard anything negative about the system so I'd guess it works.

Re: NGD! Vigier Excalibur Pics and Clip!

Out of all the superstrat type guitars out there, Vigiers appeal to me the most in terms of spec, aesthetic, and the fact that they set up the guitar before it leaves the factory. How many makers bother to fine tune the pickup pole heights? I occasionally gas for an Excalibur, a Surfretter, or an Indus - both the black and white one are quite delectable :cool2:.

As for the clip, that's seriously tight sounding. What's the feel of the ball-bearing trem like? I notice it has no forearm contour.

Yours seems to be the Excalibur Special - maple top, no Floyd. Pickups are a PAF Pro, FS-1, and Tone Zone according to the spec sheet.

Re: NGD! Vigier Excalibur Pics and Clip!

That is one seriously nice looking super strat.
I know they're a tad pricey but that does look the business, and sound good to.

If you don't mind me asking how much did you pick it up for?
