NGD – Warmoth Content

Quick background story: a bit ago I had bought an unfinished USA Custom Guitar Tele project. I didn't care for the neck as it had a Rosewood board with the Gibson scale. So I won a bid for a loaded MIJ Tele body and assembled it–played very nice (new found respect for USA CG necks!) and had a super clean tone, not quite as "Tele" sounding but I think that had more to do with the scale and Rosewood combo. So I put it up for sale on Craigslist and I got a trade offer that was incredible.

Warmoth Soloist Alder+Flame Maple top, Roasted Maple neck with Rosewood board, medium jumbo Stainless Steel Frets, non-fine tuning Floyd system, super nice staggered Schaller tuners, DiMarzio Area 58 and 61 singles in the neck and mid...and an epic Motor City Black Belt 2 in the bridge! Probably my new favorite bridge pickup...this thing covers clean to raunchy and everything in between. Overall, super satisfied with the trade deal.

Purty blue! I built a Warmoth maybe 2 years ago, and it was a blast. I'd do it again, since there are endless things I'd want.

I think its one of the better looking ones in my arsenal! ;) Definitely recommend Warmoth–love their stuff...and roasted maple is beyond amazing!

The Motor City bridge pickup sounds phenomenal! But I'm not really digging the DiMarzios in the neck and mid–quite a volume drop and just sound kinda off. Motor City has the 2nd Degree listed as a Vintage Hot, should probably get a read on it...kinda thinking Cool Rails with this one.

Roasted maple just sounds like an ice cream flavour. So I'm sure this one is sweeeeeeet!

'Zat one getting a Schaller bridge, too?

:)

I've thought about it but I haven't had any tuning issues with this one and I really love the feel of this unlocked Floyd Rose...so why change it? :D

Haha! Thank you man, now you know how I feel about your Warmoth with the Zebra top! ;)

I'm putting this up as the best trade deal I've ever done...had about $250 in the Tele I traded for it ($370 total but the White Alder body I kept for my project.)

That is an amazing looking guitar Trey.

Thanks! It plays and sounds better than it looks! My dad liked this one so much that he kinda commandeered it. lol

That isn't a non-locking Floyd, it's a reissue of the original no-fine-tuner model. It looks like the tuners are locking Schallers, so you essentially have a double-locking system without the locknut. Tuning stability probably isn't quite as good as a locknut, but I've heard some speculation that this setup sounds better.
