After about 5 years of having the Esquire, in addition to several pickup changes, I've come to the conclusion yet again that I am not a Tele style guitar guy. The old 80's MIJ Contemporary I sold some years ago I probably would've kept but that is the only one that was really comfortable for me. So, I sold the Tele body completely loaded and have a Strat body and all the hardware I need coming from Warmoth. I kept the neck, also a Warmoth, same type/profile as what is on my 25 year-old Frankenstrat.
It's 4lbs 1oz, solid alder, had it routed HSH since in the Showcase it was SSS. Vintage 6-screw trem (ordered Gotoh trem, same one on my Frankenstrat). Black pearl pickguard, single volume in the Tone 2 spot and a bridge humbucker. The Perpetual Burn is going to go in wired to a CTS 500K push/pull that I ordered from Stew-Mac (same ones seen in the LP Traditional Pros). It should all be here on Thursday.
Here is a mock-up I did. It's tough to get the pickguard to be exact since black pearl isn't in the virtual builders but it represents the idea enough. There's also 2 knobs in this mock-up, which I might go to if I don't like the PB without a tone control.
