The Vintage VS6M SG I picked up recently went to a new home in exchange. It was a super nice guitar but didn’t add anything to the mix so now I have a whammy bar :cool2:

Yeah this top is beautiful

It had gold knobs but just didn’t look right with them

#1 Gun Metal knobs. Black speed, seriously?

#2 WTF were they thinking with that black plastic gash for a switch rail. Paint that piece of crap. Always hated that aesthetic on those guitar. Idiotbanez.

#3 Suggestion; Plasticote clear (or something chemically appriopriate) that jack hole. I'm not sure how you are with cables, but you'll chip the crap out of that beautiful finish around the receiving sphincter jamming a cable in there if you are not super careful. Why did they slick that up but not the switch? Gunmetal cup would be BEYOND cool. Get same guy to make a switch rail for you while you are at it.

#4 I always thing those trees look like a Terminator hand or something. Don't let that freak you out.

They had to do something otherwise it just stuck up way too high on it's own. I'll make an ebony one if I keep it.

This is just for home use so I'm not too worried about that but I can see how it would get chewed up if it was a heavy use guitar.

Put some spacer screws underneath instead of a riser on top.

Home use - cool...

And yeah - get a Fred & a PAF Pro, pr a Mo Joe, or whatever combo of those pups.

Congrats! I used to have those in see through black back in the day. Fantastic playing guitar. The tone was kind of dark and fat. Really mahogany-sounding. I had EMG's in mine. I kinda miss it. But yeah, you need metal knobs on that sucka!

BTW, Schaller does have knobs that match the hardware, and so does Gotoh.
