Haters hated. Naysayers naysaid. The teaser thread ran it's course, some complained, said it would never show up.

The lack of faith was disgusting.

Here it is, with a few tweaks to the electronics system. She's good looking, but sounds twice as good. I think between this and my J-45, I have a lot of tonal options as far as acoustics are concerned. Where the J-45 is a mid range canon, this guitar blooms. Lots of volume, lots of range, lots of overtones.

The guitar itself feels bigger than life. I'm 6ft tall, 200pounds, and it still feels huge. The neck is nice, not as rounded as my J-45. The frets are very similar, but it's important to note that the scale is longer. Where my J-45 is about warmth, this guitar is all about dynamics and clarity.

Dayum. That thing is beautiful. The biggest I can get is a mini jumbo but I'm practically pygmy.

Where're those naysayers, now??

Jesus, that's gorgeous!

Just don't do a full review of it. Last time you did that, I bought a 339!

Re: NGD with pics : Gibson J-200 Antique Natural

It's a beauty. Congratulations.

I've been meaning to post a pic of that Guild you wanted to see, but we've had cloudy weather in the past three or four days.

Re: NGD with pics : Gibson J-200 Antique Natural

Thanks ya'll.

The naysayers? Good question.

Loving playing this thing. I'm gonna give the fretboard a good conditioning, as it looks a bit dry, but the grain on that thing is wicked for rosewood.

I'm gonna have fun with that Fishman Ellipse Aura. You can plug it via USB to a computer and tone shape different "images" and tonescapes to fit different songs and situations. Kinda like a pickup switch on an electric. Looking forward to exploring that.

Nicest bridge design ever!

I never doubted you. Judging from the leaves on the ground, you're in the northeast? If so, I'll come by tomorrow and give that thing a test drive for you. Don't want you to wear out your callouses.

Beauty of a Gibson Acoustic. There is a Bozeman Built J-200 Custom for sale locally at $3,200.00 that is just as lovely as yours although w/more inlay work on the bridge and some fancier tuners and it is indeed both a lovely instrument to behold and play with a nice full tone that can only be described as completely satisfying to the ear. Congrats on yours!!!

That's awesome, an absolute stunner. It makes me wanna play some Elvis tunes.

Right up in Canada eh.

That's a really good price for a custom actually. I've played a few of them, and decided to go with the standard because of the wood. VERY IMPORTANT to note that the custom does not have maple back and sides (rosewood rather) and has an ebony fretboard. Fancier looks, but a totally different beast.

The thing with these guitars, is that a lot of people aren't willing to throw the type of money that you'd need to get one. I know I wasn't for a long time, but if you can do it, they are great guitars with a great tonal character to them.

I know man! My band does an electric Ramones-esque cover of Hound Dog, so I had to play it acoustic yesterday! :)

Can't unsee.

It's nuts eh. Gibson calls it the moustache bridge. There's no secret as to why they do that.

After having played it for a few days, I am very satisfied. Glad I got it set up right off the gun though. The electronics in there sound NUTS! I know that sounds weird when talking about an acoustic, but a big part of the acoustic guitar buying decision for me was getting something that would translate nicely on stage. I'll try to record something today through my computer interface, using only the direct input of the guitar, without any mods or effects.
