NGD Yamaha APX500II

ehdwuld

A Ficus
back in December, a friend of mine had two guitars in his closet he didnt want
so I got em from him
one was a red Ibanez Sage acoustic
the other was a brand new Yamaha Pacifica he had never even tuned to pitch

well they hung round the house for a while and I really wasn't bonding with either one
nice guitars but ya know they just didn't inspire me to play them

so off to GC I went

I had seen in the catalog where they had the Ibanez V70CE in blue for $199
and i was interested in that

the sales man went to find a blue one, but by the time he got back I had played the Yamaha and the neck just played so much better than the Ibbys

so I swapped the two Closet finds for the Yamaha that inspired me

Crappy Cell Phone pics will follow

I have the exact same guitar! Happy NGD. You can almost gypsy-jazz shred on this one! If only it had lower bridge!

Re: NGD Yamaha APX500II

I was so impressed as it plays almost like an electric

the action is very low
the nut is 43mm

its gonna be a much nicer "Beater Acoustic" for me

I really like the tuner on the preamp
wish my Martin had that

Re: NGD Yamaha APX500II

Had an original first run for 20 some years was a good guitar let a former friend use it with an option to buy it cheap. He had serious issues with drugs and it went away.

Re: NGD Yamaha APX500II

Contrats. My first two gits were Yamaha e-acoustics. The last was an APX10-T. Sadly it died. I loved that guitar.

Re: NGD Yamaha APX500II

I saw the same model used at GC in Portland wit a dead preamp for $99

Re: NGD Yamaha APX500II

I had a Yamaha nylon string classical back in the 80's

strung it with steel strings cuz I just didn't know

action was almost a 1/4 inch

neck was too wide and strings too high to make a G chord

loved that guitar

tone was incredible

Re: NGD Yamaha APX500II

I got the small one.

Ive tried all fg700 - 730 series. And The APX 500 and 700 even the LS6. GREAT guitars! Wery robust guitars that can handle dry weather to :D

Somehow all my picture I upload here gets turned 90 degrees.
