I had recently purchased and returned a Gibson LP Traditional, and after being unable to find one with decent fit/finish I decided I'm done with Gibson. However, I still wanted a Les Paul style guitar. I had been researching the Japanese copies (Tokai,Burny,Greco, Edwards) but they are just too difficult to come by. So I pulled the trigger on an ESP Eclipse II, and I must say it is amazing guitar. The build quality is exceptional and it makes the Gibson look like an Epiphone. I'll post some pics in a few.

My best friend owns a EC-1000 (like 1 or 2 steps down from yours) and even that thing plays better than the les pauls I have played, your eclipse II must be amazing!

Excellent guitar, had one for a while. Not exactly an LP but stands on it's own real well, hope you love it.

So about those pix.....


Glad yopu picked up an Eclipse. Now if you wouldv'e returned the Gibson and got a Tokai,Burny,Greco, Edwards etc I would've been questioning your reason.

Guys - act right!

I think ESP is a fantastic guitar. It's made to high quality standards AND priced right. Definite alternative to a traditional LP.

I humbly request a pic sometime in the near future so we may admire it's beauty!

Awesome choice ! ESP Eclipses don't disappoint ;)


IMO they are much more comfy to play than Gibsons. Cheaper, more solid, most have an ebony fingerboard and are lighter in weight than Gibsons. And the flag inlays look funky IMO.

ICEMAN did you get the color you wanted? If not, did they at least give you a discount?


It's been over a day with no pics, anyone else getting the feeling this will be another one of "those" threads??????????????????
