Here are a few pics of my New les paul. Ive bought more then a few brand spanking new guitars but ive always for the most part been sweet on gibson explorers and have bought 2 used but I never really been able to afford a gibson les paul. Well for the last year or so ive been fiending for a so called real les paul. Ive owned a few epi's and a couple of ltds ec 1000's but i wanted the real deal mahogany & maple capped thick bodied tone without a funny looking headstock. Fast forward I saved my pennies and hustled a few dollars here and there and after some serious searching ended up bringing this pretty lady home to stay. Out of about 8 les pauls I kept coming back to this one because not only did she blow the others away in tone and pure playability but features and price point made it a no brainer. She's a 2011 gibson les paul studio deluxe 50's model in nitro iced tea. Accoring to gibson website specs include a fat round fifties neck which I prefer and traditional weight relief instead of a chambered body. Not that chambered is a bad thing but I think all the les paul tones we know and love didnt come from no stinking chambered SOLID BODY LES PAULS! Anyways minus binding she sounded better then the standards i played and was about $600 bucks cheaper. Electronics dont matter cause i bought a set of ants to try out and a seth bridge in case the ant bridge is too polite. I also have chest full of pots and different caps to uprade her with since I will be starting a recording project soon and want her to have all the bells and whistles. It will also be a lil while before i will get the luxury of buying a axe like this and tricking it out and the whole nine yards so im am trying to make the most of it. Sorry about all the yapping and the crappy cell phone pics as they dont do the guitar any justice.:naughty::thanks:

Re: NGD!!:

Normally I don't like the lack of binding on Les Pauls with a burst, but that one looks ****ing awesome. Congrats, lad! :beerchug:

Re: NGD!!:

Nice score man.

By far the Studio Deluxe's are the best model studios out there. I have the 60's deluxe model, wish it had your finish though.

Re: NGD!!:

Very nice! I looked at several of those a while back and liked them more than Traditionals, just felt better to me. That thing will sound killer with the Ants!

Re: NGD!!:

Sweet, congrat man! I played a few of thoughs when I bought my LP, most of them play pretty nice!

Re: NGD!!:

I got the seths installed and all I can say is money well spent!!! This is by far the best sounding guitar I own! I think the seth will find its way to one of my explorers cause the ants sound f***ing awsome and they aint coming out no time soon! Time to piss off my neighbors!:headbang::headbang:

Re: NGD!!:

How's the neck on that?

Its nice and fat which I like better then the 60's version. But its a comfortable fat not too much for the hand to to grip . When I first played it it honestly felt like it was a instrument that I practiced with every day with, just real comfortable. And I am able to still shred effortlessly on it compared to my epi les paul custom which has a ridiculously fat neck which slows me down quite a bit.

Re: NGD!!:

VEry nice! HAPPY NGD!!! And new PUP day! Glad they worked out! I gotta try some ants one day..
