The burst on my 1994 looks just like that and the distributor/sales staff called it Dark Honeyburst at the time. It's just a honeyburst done in two passes. However, Gibson didn't distinguish dark vs. normal by name in any of their advertising and literature. They were trying to create this kind of mystique of 'random' variants appearing on the sales floor, like the classic 50's Les Pauls had. But really they were doing it in a very formulaic manner behind the scenes. Nowadays, they're open about it. For example, you can buy Iced Tea, Washed Cherry, Light Burst, etc., all that used to be 'accidental' variants of Cherry Sunburst.
