What a day. I took the day off because I had to drive my fiance to the airport. She typed in the address of the nearest Guitar Center. I knew this store had the black version, but was really surprised when I saw they had both. There were a few dudes chuggin away some power chords so I asked the salesman for something a bit more private. He hooked me up with a Fender amp in the classical room. I played both for about an hour back and forth until deciding on the historic burst. Finest instrument I have ever owned, didn't even adjust pickup height !

Re: NGD

I've wondered how those compare to a 335 for tone. I guess you'd have to have the exact same pickups in both to be able to say for certain how much difference is attibutable to the guitar.

Re: NGD

BTW, I have a friend who has one. He is really a strat guy and doesn't care much for LPs, but that doesn't stop him from having a few. Anyway, he loves his. Says it's absolutely the best LP he's ever played.

That's awesome. I really love the look of those florentines, I just wish they would bring back the sharp horn on the cutaway.

I wouldn't expect it to sound quite like a 335, though it should have similar qualities. I haven't played one of these, but I've played a few custom shop LP Florentines which have very similar construction and they sound like a LP with a bit of extra 335-ish chime. Maybe the OP or someone with a bit more experience can offer a more detailed comparison?
