Picked this baby up today. Don't think I did too bad for $350. The 490 set might end up getting swapped out for something else later, I'll leave them in for a bit to see how I gel with them.
Nice score, dude! That is an admirable deal and a fun takeaway guitar. I have a similar Studio model that I bought to test pickups in. Is that one using the quick-connects where you can pull everything out without soldering?

Yeah it has a PCB inside of it. Nothing seems to be coming out though, don't want to press my luck and break anything. It looks like a pc motherboard though, so I assume it is possible to swap stuff out without soldiering. The model is LPJ Pro btw, didn't find anything about a quick connect system in a quick search.
Thanks for all the congrats guys. The funny thing is I had contacted a guy who had the same model on Craigslist for $475, offered him $425 but he sold it before he replied. Then I found this one up for $350, saved myself quite a bit of coin The neck is really nice on this one as well, I usually don't bond all that well in LP necks.
EDIT: Further research shows that yes, this is a quick connect board.
It was a used one, I don't think GC and the like would go that low on these unless they were in desperation mode. This is also luckily a 2013 model so it doesn't have the tacky 120th Anniversary inlay. And it goes really well with that Orange hehe
I got a great deal on a used studio in November. It had the 490 set. At first, I was going to swap them. But now, I'm enjoying them. They have a real 1970s vibe to them. the neck is really throaty and the bridge is just a little too harsh, you know? like something out of a Thin Lizzy album. I would definitely play with them a while before I tossed them.
I've been playing around with pickup heights, got the bridge to be a bit less harsh. Listening to a quick little vid I took on my cell though, and it didn't sound that bad at all. Definitely going to leave them in for a bit to gauge what I really think of them, but the neck is really killer and I think it would stay most likely even if I did replace the bridge. 1970's is definitely the right description for them though.
