Hey guys.

Just a quick thread about some stuff I've picked up over the last few weeks incase anyones vaguely interested! The additional thread will be in the amp room in a few minutes :D

Some of you may know that I've been trying to sell some of my stuff for a while now and I've not had much interest. I've been offering it up for sale and trades on Facebook groups and have had a few bites but nothing certain until Monday night this week when I found the below:

It's a 2004 Gibson Les Paul Standard Limited Edition in Black Cherry. It's not a very good pic really as it's darker than it looks in my pics, I just can't seem to get a good shot of it. I got it in a trade a few days ago for a few other guitars I've not used in a while.

The guy I got it from only recently got it but as he has over 100 guitars, he's decided to have a clear out and he fancied my Patrick Eggle and Peavey Wolfgang Special so we decided to do a trade.

It needs a restring as the strings on it atm are atleast 3 years old and a neck tweak as I plan on using 11s or 12s on it in Eb tuning, but other than that I'm happy with it.

I have a spare set of BKP Abraxas knocking around that I'm thinking about trying in this guitar at somepoint, but they're tremspaced so I'm not sure how well they'll work. Don't think it makes that much difference if memory serves?

Cheers!

Craig

HOLY COW!!!!!!!! That is beautiful!! I'm just going to go ahead and say it. That's the best looking guitar that you've ever bought. I hope it plays and sounds as good as it looks.

Cheers Jolly :)

It doesn't play or soud that great atm, the 3 year old strings pretty much kill the sound and any playability it may have, but I'm sorting it out tomorrow and rehearsing with it Sunday so I'm sure it'll be good after a bit of work.

That looks like it's working well. He wants to clear stuff out so he swaps you one guitar in return for two.

Nice guitar anyway.

Cheer mate! :D

I only know of this series that has those inlays but I'm no expert.

These 2004 Limited Editions came in this Black Cherry, Santa Fe Orange, Midnight Blue, a Seafoam Green type colour and an Amber colour.

Yeah it's a 60s neck.

Re: NGD

SWEET!!! I love the 60s neck!! Cant play the fat necks.. May be the same series then. Marq Torien (sp?) of the Bullet Boys plays one that has the Crown on the h/s and is dark blue (prolly midnight blue then) that I love!! And part of the reason is the headstock binding and all. And knowing that it has a 60s neck makes me lust for on even more! Yours is a beaut!!

I always thought my Cherryburst above had the 50s neck but it's possibly only a tad thicker than the red 1 with the 60s neck. The R8 has the baseball bat and the difference between that and the other 2 is very noticeable :D

Beautiful. What PU's are in it?

Thanks!

As far as I know it's stock, which means they're Burstbucker pros I think.

1 thing that makes me think they may've been changed though is that the screws on the bridge pickup mounting ring are totally trashed. I don't know how else that would've happened apart from it having had the mounting ring taken off for some and then had it's screws tightened back up using an electric screwdriver.

I got it cleaned up and restrung yesterday and used it at practice tonight and whilst the bridge pickup sounds good, the neck pickup is very dull and muddy with no definition at all.
