Ya it was probably one of the best sounding and playing guitars Ive ever had, but it was too hard for me to play on the 1 11/16 nut width after getting used to the 1 5/8. It was to hard switching back and forth. That EBMM Axis i had my absolute favorite neck shape ever, but good god it was a piece of crap. The neck would move about every 2 or 3 days, it never stayed in tune (even after sending it back to music man for a full setup) and the other thing is that the neck has a 10 inch radius....well the floyd nut and bridge both had 14 in radius, so in order to get the two E strings at the correct height, the middle 4 strings would be too low and would buzz. But easily had the best neck shape of all time

I had that same problem with my Axis- eventually the neck warped or "fishtailed", requiring a refret. Those graphite reinforcement rods they use don't seem to do much

The nut radius is no biggie, and nothing that couldn't be worked out any way. But the bridge is definitely something you could fix by shimming to make it match the 10" radius of your fretboard.

Wow. That is a beauty. I haven't had the chance to touch a USA model but I have played a few Specials and Standards. Nothing short of amazing. The QC on them is top notch. I'm jonesing for a Special myself, Goldtop or the Army Green.

The radius thing could be cured with shimming the saddles on the floyd. However an unstable neck is a deal breaker and I would have dumped it quick for that!!!
Neck stability is why I am so dogged supportive of Carvins and the old Grover Jackson era Washburns. I own both and hardly ever touch the necks on ether.
Congrats on the Wollfie shes a looker!

Ya unfortunately the USA models are "Made to order" only now, so hardly no one is going to really carry them

Ya that Axis neck was like a piece of spaghetti. It KILLS me too because that guitar had my absolute favorite neck carve. Nice, small and round with an asymmetrical shape too

Re: NGD!

Wow. If I had known that I wouldn't have wasted money on a refret. My EVH striped neck is extremely stable

Im pretty sure the graphite rods started with the PV Wolf. But ya the EVH wolfgang hardtail i used to have never moved. I drove from California to Tennessee with it in the car and it didn't move
