I bought this Indonesian made Squier Strat for $50. It came with a gig bag, strap, cord and mini amp.
It still had the plastic on the pick guard. A0BD5C39-E1EA-4712-BE38-C017EA12C2D6.jpg

I think it cleaned up rather nicely.

That's a nice one. Is that a bullet version? Mine has a H-S-H routing in it. Not sure about the depths of the cavities, if you're installing long legged humbuckers and a regular size switch.

Man, it is a great time to be looking for used guitars. Have fun with that one!

Sweet deal
And by cleaned up I imagine you mean dusted off
As it still had the plastics on I can't conceive of much finger gunk on it

I replaced the strings after the truss rod adjustment so while they were off I cleaned it up with distilled water on a soft cloth.

It is an affinity. I don’t know enough about electric guitars to tackle replacing anything just yet.

Surprisingly it plays pretty good just the way it sits right now. Although I can tell it needs a visit to the doctor for a professional set up as the intonation is a bit off.

That guitar looks pretty darn good for $50! I love the wood grain on the body and the sunburst finish...it looks immaculate after you cleaned it up. Good job and congrats on your very fine purchase.;)

If you're gonna use the guitar to learn how to mod, it would definitely be a good idea to learn how to intonate on it as well. Setting propper intonation is just as easy and no more risky than tuning it. You don't even need to take the strings off.
