I've got a black EC-256 with gold hardware. I play it every day. It sits next to me at all times when I'm on the couch watching tv. I got it brand new a few years ago for about $300. I only play it unplugged, and it's a loud resonating guitar.

I never could get along with the looks of their LP types. That pointy lower horn just gets to me, in an irritating sort of way. And not just the pointiness of it, but the curve of the cutaway just isn't right.

I think what you meant to say was, "Those LTD's are quality instruments; not exactly my style, but I'm glad you got something you like."

:)

(I think it's a cool-git; love those thin necks and huge frets.)

+1. Yeah ive admired the Eclipse LTD style from afar for years and i have LTD Kamikaze & Purple Tigers [love those] and i always did not like the LP styling guess cuz it wasn't Gibson spec.
But i gotta say all the LP appointments tone wise are here and it plays nice.
Sure beats the Teisco ET-200 i got in early 1970's.
I don't think young folks really know how bad it was 40+ years ago starting on guitar w/a low budget.
There was Gibson / Fender / Marshall and everything else and the "everything else" was not very playable.
But as a young kid i was glad to get that Teisco from Montgomery Ward catalog.
Im glad for my humble beginnings.

but look at those fun switches!

ive always like the eclipse style, modern lp without going too far. usually play and sound great too!

Which model is that one?
Those are great players, light, handle well, fit and finish are great, and they sound amazing. They really did a good job with the ec1000 models at least.

Nice, always thought they were a nice take on a modern LP. On another note, that TV yellow double cut looks the dogs danglies…… love it.

Well, no I didn't mean to say that because I could never get past the appearance to look any closer at the quality and especially not actually play one. And since I had/have no intention of buying/owning one, I've never had the desire to invest any time checking them out. They may indeed be excellent quality, I just don't personally know about that...can't comment about something that I don't know. I only know that I don't like the looks.

But I AM glad the OP got something that HE likes. Certainly!
