Sorry, alittle long winded, but want to lay foundation.. As many of you may know, Ive tried to encourage my kids to play instruments. (particularly guitar hee hee). My oldest daughter wasnt really interested in making music. I got my Son an electric and he never really took to it. (Football and weight lifting). My third child (Girl) is very gifted and picked up piano and guitar . I showed her cowboy chords and gave her some charts and she surpassed me quick. So I got her a nice slightly over entry level Breedlove accoustic. Next Daughter, seemed more interested in Bass, so got her a cool Daisy rock bass. She never got into it.
My baby girl was very interested in guitar, so I got her a parlor sized Aria accou a few years ago that Evan posted a SDOD heads up on, since she was small. Again, showed her some cowboy chords and gave her some chord charts and away she went. Even played it at school and such. Any how, her capo came up missing, so I told her Id get her a new one. We were out one day and stopped at local shop. Picked out the capo and I asked her if she wanted to look around. OK! She beelined over to the accoustics and started drooling..(Dad was drooling over at the electrics...) Any how they carry fender, Ibanez and Seagull. She was looking at a couple of the Seagulls. I asked her if she wanted to try one? Am I allowed?? (Maiden voyage to guitar store..) I said yes, just let me help you and be careful.. She tried one and lit up. Then she tried a different one and just beamed. She liked the big tone of the full body and all and this guitar just really hit home with her. I said you like that?? Im in love.... she says.. (Dads ok with her falling in love with a guitar...) Anyhow, she was totally taken with this one. Asked if she could sell her other to put toward it, etc..
Well, alittle back story... She has had some issues lately and doing some bad things and during that time, she sold her very nice keyboard and bench to support those bad things and she lost all her joy and all her desire for music etc. So she has been in rehab for 3 months and recently got out. Since being out, she has been playing guitar and singing again.. (happy daddy this makes...)
So, as incentive to stay on track and since her first guitar was small and basic, I wanted to upgrade her. I couldnt afford the new one at $700 so I found a mint used one of the same model, same year 2015 on ebay at half the price. I used the paypal credit I was gonna buy my next toy with and got it for her.
Arrived yesterday.. UPS left it outside so I ran home on my lunch.. She had brought it in the house and hid it in the spare bedroom.. (She figured it was for me... haha) When I got home, I opened the end of the big box and told her I really needed her to help me pull the inner box out. She did. She happened to see a sticker on the inner box that said Seagull and lit up like a Christmas tree. Needless to say, she loves her new baby... Seagulls are really nice axes.
I told her its cuz Im proud of her progress, THRILLED to hear her making music again, and if she starts using again, I will take it as Im not having her sell it for contraband...
Anyhow, Sorry for the long read, thanks for hanging in there. As much as I love getting new gear for myself, there is joy in giving it too...
Dont any pics of her guitar, but this is what she has:
Seagull Performer. Has solid spruce top, beautiful flame sides, back and headstock over lay, rosewood board and bridge, tusq nut and saddle and Quantum I electronics.

Being used, it didnt come with the gig bag, (no biggie) but it had recently been set up and restrung. Nicer action then one in the store..
Anyhow, thanks for reading!
