NGOPD: New Green Overdrive Pedal Day!

Aceman

I am your doctor of love!
I got one of these:

I plugged it into my Marshall VS100, clean channel, and ran it on a fairly generic setting, and the first thing I said was "Damn, this is TOTALLY the Bryan Adams Summer of 69 tone!!!"

That said I didn't play it until my fingers bled...

I A/B'd it a little with my TS9. Basically, its a TS9. Maybe a little more gain. Maybe not. That is all I have to say about that.

Cool man! Some of those BBE effects were really well done. I have a Mind Bender chorus/vibrato that easily sounds as good as some of my hoity toity boutique pedals. I had heard that the Green Screamer was really cool too.

Congrats!

I couldn't tell the difference with my TS7 on the non-hot setting either. It is a TS with a better switch, really.

I have a BBE Two time with the graphic as well. Its particular, but I really like it.

Man, just about any green pedal with 3 knobs is gonna be a TS clone/variant. ;)

Yeah - a lot are exactly the same. But some have their own little unique charm. I have had a basic TS9 for about 25-30 years. Thought I'd mix it up a little!

We'll see how this one goes When I get a chance to really run them against each other.

Very true on both of your replies. There are some that have the bass boost switch and/or more gain switch. It doesn't take much to take that circuit, make a tweak, rebox it, paint it green and have another variant. I still prefer the original TS808 if I was to use a TS again.

I was referring to signal flow direction.
That jet is going out through the in door.
Or in through the out door, as is your preference.

If I recall correctly the BBE Green Screamer is the TS808 circuit without the input/output buffers, basically a Son of Screamer circuit. It's a great sound and easy to mod if you're handy with a soldering iron.

That whole line of pedals from BBE was clones of other, popular circuits, AFAIK.

Green Screamer = Tube Screamer, Two-Timer Delay = Boss DM-2 and Mind Bender = Way Huge Blue Hippo (Boss CE-2 clone)/Boss VB-2 Vibrato.

Those are the ones I know for sure. I know that the Soul Vibe is a Uni-Vibe clone but I'm not really sure of the exact circuit that they based it on.

Good pedals nonetheless. They were well built, reasonably priced and sound really, really good.
