You're cut off. You've had your tweed chances! You're a blackface guy and we've been in a Tweed craze these last few years... You just need to enter a 12 step Tweed Program.

Re: Nice clean Bandmaster Reverb available on TGP

Greg, Im tellin ya...you should just suck it up and get that Victoria 20112 we played when Luke was here...that puppy sounds amazing!

Re: Nice clean Bandmaster Reverb available on TGP

pfft...all he needs is a backup to his Vibrolux. He's obviously set with his amp, and that's a great thing! He knows his tone. He needs a back up Vibrolux and then be done with it, or run Vibrolux's...in STEREO!!! A beautiful thing.

Nah...Greg's not much of a backup kind of guy, Greg is a "I like this amp all the time but I would like something that sounded completely different that I can use now and then for a different tone" kind of guy. However, he likes to keep on trying differnt flavors...no biggie, he'll find another amp that he really digs soon enough.

Re: Nice clean Bandmaster Reverb available on TGP

hehe, all that searching would completely wear me out. I can't think of many flavors he hasn't tried (with the exception of high gain, and we all know he's not really going there (although he did have that Mesa/Boogie Rect-o-verb)).

Ahh...not true!!! There are a MILLION cool amps out there Greg has not even thuoght about. Greg has tried to get on with some Mesa stuff, a few Tweeds, and a double fisted handful of little 18 watters but there are LOADS of different flavors out there...

True, but he's tried all of the basics...tweed, blackface, silverface, marshall-esque, low watters, gain monsters, etc.

Maybe a Victoria would be good for him...or a Matchless, or a ...man, there's so many variations on a theme here. ...

Hmm....BUDDA!!! He hasn't tried a Budda yet :) Those are killer amps.

Very True!!!!

It doesn't wear me out since I have the Lux. If i didn't have the Lux I would be worn out. My 2nd amp will always be a toy that is subject to the chopping block.

The Bandmaster is too similar to the Lux plus it was in such great condition when I got it it needed no work. How boring is that!! I guess that's why the Lux is so close to my heart. I had to put research, a few misc. parts, tubes, speakers, caps and update some cosmetics to get it to where it is. It wasn't always as killer as it is now. I guess the Lux is sentimental too!! It is very rare for me to get a hold of a sentimental guitar item.

Bbent should definately go with a Hiwatt next.

Yeah whatever that little amp was it was bad to the bone. I need to just break down and get that Double Deluxe or get a V Front. In reality I could never do the V Front because I would feel like a douche with you having yours. I know I like tweed, but just gotta find the right one for me. maybe a Tweed Vibrolux???? That would be cool!!!

Man I understand completely! I had a Bandmaster Reverb and I got it *because* it was so similar to a vibrolux and that's all I could afford at the time. I ran it through a 1x15 cab and tried really hard to get SRV tones which were so far beyond me at the time....but c'est la vie. You're becoming a wealth of first hand knowledge on some great amps in the meantime. When I got ready to buy my Dr. Z, you were the first person I came to :)

a Tweed Vibrolux is a real low wattage amp (it's only about 10-12 watts...) however Bruce is doing a bigger tweed with tremolo, I've talked with him a few times about it and it sounds like a killer amp.

Re: Nice clean Bandmaster Reverb available on TGP

I think you need a Franklin. It's got the Fender cleans and a weird combo of vox/marshall dirty.

I'm not sure if tweeds are something you can live with for very long.

Re: Nice clean Bandmaster Reverb available on TGP

I think Greg should get this...

http://cgi.ebay.com/Sears-Silverton...9QQihZ018QQcategoryZ10171QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I have had a few of these over the years and they are just killer!

Greg can't HANDLE the Silvertone!

Bro I think you are making the right decision. When you bought it I scratched my head wondering what you were going to do with it.

I think you should go with another Bad Cat or get a Fuchs.

Luke

Not many people CAN handle the Silvertones...killer amps though!

My vote goes to an old Silvertone, Dano, Supro, Valco, or something else old and strange
