To answer first question:

Dood I know. I got the p'up, and was like WTF?! I wanted to tap it and it was single conductor. I guess the nickel ones come single conductor, with four conductor as an option.

Second question:

If you need it, you can prolly afford another $10. :smokin:

I just bought a APH-1N brand new with a nickel cover for $50 today. And since every single Custom Custom on eBay is going for about $75+shipping, I know I can get it for around $50-$60. It just takes time! And that's what I'm made of!

I got a 32" Philips Widescreeen HDTV, used but in perfect shape for $300, shipped. I can do anything! That's what my entire website is about (not a plug).

The non-nickel covered ones are going for $75-$76 new. The Nickel covered ones are $96 new. So, I figure Nickel covered barely used for new non-nickel price is fair. But you're right, you might get one for a little less. It is a time game of chance.

My PRS Dragon II's sold for $159 for the set (Paid a little more than that in '99!), so I've got the money coming for my Antiquities. Let us remember, this is about tone! Good luck brothers!

I got my SH-11 CC with factory Nickle cover for $50 shipped on ebay 2 months ago. I've seen so many others come stock with braided 2 conductor wire. Mine is 4 Conductor though.

Does anyone know the policy on wire hookup for these and why I'm seeing so many braided models that are not a custom order?

The inner wire should be soldered to the hot terminal of the pot and the outer braid should be grounded. You can solder it to the back of the pot.

Custom Custom's have 4con wire standard. I would be checking any pickup with single conductor for other indicators of what it is. Its certainly possible its legit but single conductor is not that common

Dude, post your findings! I'm all about the low-deal. I paid $64 shipping and all for it, $56 for the pup and $8 shipping. So, I profited $10 and got to experiment!!!

But alas, my PRS Dragon II's have sold for $159 and my Antiquities are on the way for $175 shipped, BRAND NEW. Hehe...
