Nightrain - Guns N Roses Cover!

Re: Nightrain - Guns N Roses Cover!

I liked it but you should back off the wah a bit. Good choice, I'm also learning that song.

Re: Nightrain - Guns N Roses Cover!

Try using lless guitar tracks and throw in some keyboard stuff ex to replace the voice melody because it muddies up since all the guitar tracks sound the same. Tey eq'ing different sounds and pan them so that they will be complementary. That way you'll be able to hear a better separation between tracks.

Roll off the bass on your guitar sound. Maybe it sounds cool in the bedroom but with the bass and bassdrum in the track the bass response of the rythm guitar track takes away the attack and definition of what it's playing and makes for a non-stop sound.

Cut off the wah man! Like the other said it's really abusive and using it during the whole song makes it hard on the nerves, and contributes to make the sound linear with no peaks or buildups.

Also watch out when recording a lot of guitar tracks so that they are tight and all at the same time. The rythm is correct but a kinda loose playing (try cutting it more like ex: ACDC's Back in Black track) but the leads are a little sloppy.

So in a word cut that wah and opt for breathier lead sounds. Remember to keep the playing tight so that all guitars play exactly at the same time and make your rythm track less thick and cut the notes to prevent the WALL-OF-SOUND effect that washes everything out.

Re: Nightrain - Guns N Roses Cover!

Please, use less wah. If it doesn't happen, I WILL NOT listen to your covers anymore. It's just plain annoying to listen to that wah all the time.
