NJBD...

OK, so I've been holding out on you for a few days on this one whilst I waited for a couple of bits to arrive for it. The original mint green pick guard has been swapped out in favour of this rather fetching tortoiseshell number, and it's had some Schaller strap-locks added too. As for the setting, that's on the Wyre Estuary a couple of miles from my home in the UK; I thought the old wrecks would make rather a nice backdrop for this one.

Re: NJBD...

At the moment it's sitting in my bits box, what would you like me to do with it?

Oh, and almost forgot, it's one of the American Special series basses.

Re: NJBD...

Tell you what, I've got a couple of other scratch plates in the same box - I'll line them up for a photo so you can see.

Re: NJBD...

Does this help? It doesn't look overly green, but it's kind of tricky to get the colour balance right on things like this

Re: NJBD...

Pickguard's new home. You could almost believe that the body is black. ;)

Re: NJBD...

IMO, with the American Special bass guitar series, Fender seems to have deliberately chosen pickguard colours that detract from the visual appeal of the instruments. It is as if they fear losing sales of the American Standard series.

Black against white is okay but black against CAR and Parchment against 3SB do not do those instruments justice.
