NMV amps not marshall

Re: NMV amps not marshall

not sure what you are looking for bro. nmv marshall plexi's that arent clones? so something cheap that sounds like a plexi?

Re: NMV amps not marshall

I mean you can find MV amps with EL-34's and 3 preamps tubes that are made like the 800's. I want something with El-34's, 3 preamp tubes, and no MV.

Re: NMV amps not marshall

gotcha. i think there are some out there but nothing cheap comes to mind with out a master volume, pv windsor but that has a mv.

Re: NMV amps not marshall

the cheapest alternative would probably be building a kit from weber or ceriatone, or buying a pre made one from them.

Re: NMV amps not marshall

thanks. I may get a windsor and fool with it. My 800 has been modded and therefore no longer gets plexi like sounds without noise and lack of balls

Re: NMV amps not marshall

There are copies of all kinds of amps none for a plexi. Any out there? I do not mean clones. Just looking for a cheap alternative.

you can go used and look for a Traynor YBa-MK2 Bassmaster. They are the poor mans Plexi, and deals can occasinally still be found on them.
Some people are haveing them modified and voiced to pPlexis. I have one and and am keeping it around for just that purpose.
Soemthing like the Traynor and a good pedal like a HAO rust driver , Martin Plexi-tone, or Seymour Duncans Plexi style pedal( forgot waht its called) , should get you headed in the right direction.
Drewhalfempty uses an old Traynor bassmaster.
I can understand you not wanting to go used.
Try and pick up an 18 watt clone, which are little jtm45/Superlead style amps I think, but they are also expensive new .

Re: NMV amps not marshall

Small interjection...18 and 20 watt Marshalls sound almost nothing like 1987's and 1959's

To the OP...are you simply looking for 2 EL34, 3 12AX7 amps w/o a master volume?? If so, how and why did you arrive at this criteria? I only ask because it seems odd to choose an amp simply based on it's tube complement and the lack of a master volume.

I really want a vintage plexi type gain amp without a MV. I want a simple old school amp and cannot afford a plexi. When I mentioned tubes I was meaning I did not want anythign high gain.

Sorry I am confusing I suck at explaining things sometimes. Thank to everyone

Re: NMV amps not marshall

if you budget is under 1k, then you can get a ceriatone!

i'm currently saving up for one of their kits.

but they sell compplete built amps for under $700
