Re: Nnnnoooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I had a Recto module when I first bought the amp, though many like it, I thought it was a bit mushy in the low end and a bit undefined in the high end. The Recto module was re-designed and is now called the Tread Plate module. I haven't heard the new one. The 1086 is possibly the best high gain pre-amp they make (it has a gain boost switch and a mid shift switch), its pretty flexible and sounds closer to a real Recto than the first Recto modules.
The Clean is good for all my purposes, I would like to try out a Blackface, I have read that is one of the best clean sounds they make for this amp.
Over all, the RM100 is one bad amp. If you want recto sounds - buy a Recto. The Randall will be a bit more flexible and just as high of quality. I have a Dual Rec and have A/B'ed them. They sound nothing alike (with the modules that I have), but both are excellent.
I feel bad for the guy that missed the auction - these amps are worth the street price.
