Bass Medic, i think you're the only dude who posts on here all the time and is a 100% committed bassist.

I'm definitely a bass player (I just pretend I can play guitar) and actually really enjoy helping others out by providing info. But some of these questions are basic. If we had the level of bass talk like we do for guitar (technical or theoretical), I would post more in bass threads. The question of which $100-150 bass to buy shows the lack of committment to the instrument, which makes me not want to respond.

There's no need for a bass room on here really. Honestly, look at how many (if any) people respond to threads about bass stuff. Hell, I asked a bass question 2 1/2 years ago and it got it's first reply just a few days ago.

exactly. it could generate more interest from other forum users and get more bass players in here. maybe the reason there aren't many bass players is here is the fact that there is no bass room?

I am not so sure. Bass players tend to be rather less anally retentative about their pickups. Also, many bass guitars have onboard active EQ. This allows the tone of the instrument to be tailored to the requirements of the moment at the turn of a pot.

The name of this forum ought to be a clue as to why it is not overrun with bass players agonisining over magnet types, scatterwound versus automated coil winding and EQ band cut/boost levels.

Hmmmmmm you would think, listen I have love for all my guitar brothers, but I think just cutting a little knotch out for the bass players can't hurt.

Next thing you bass people will want the right to vote. Gee wizz!
