No Ground, No buzz??

Anybody have any idea what this would be? When I connect a ground wire to the trem claw/plate I get a ton of buzz touching anything metal on the guitar(strings, etc). I've disconnect the trem claw ground and the buzzing has stopped all together and all the pickups work perfectly...any ideas why that would be? It's an American Standard Strat, just replaced all the pickups with Dimarzio's and dropped in a Wilkinson bridge...I figure as long as it works it shouldn't be an issue...just wanted to see if anybody knew what was going on here.

Edit: Just rolled back my volume knob and it buzzes like crazy unless the volume is full out UGH. I didn't have any problems when I installed the pickups, the problems started yesterday when I installed the new bridge. I've checked and rechecked all the joints, I even resoldered all the pickups and still no dice...as long as I keep the volume full out no buzz but roll it back and it's terrible :P

Re: No Ground, No buzz??

Sounds like you have a wire reversed? Maybe at the input jack... Just a guess.

Re: No Ground, No buzz??

You have your ground and hot reversed somewhere, probably at the output jack. Make sure you have direct connection from the sleeve tab of the jack, to the back of the pots, and to the claw, and all will be well.

Ok let me try to switch those around and see if that fixes it...I'm pretty sure it's probably something simple like that and I will feel like jumping in the river afterwards lol

That fixed it! Thank you so much, I can't believe it was something like that, I actually resoldered those connection and said to myself "I think I should flip them" I didn't know it made a difference. Thank you so much I was seriously about to lose my mind!

Re: No Ground, No buzz??

I've done that myself and the first time was very frustrating until I figured out what I had done. The next time I knew as soon as I plugged in :)
