No sound amp

So I was practicing tonight as I usually do however I paused for a moment and then when I tried to play again there was no sound, I’ve checked all the cables on my board and to the cab, all lights are on but no sound whatsoever.
What could be the cause?

Yes I have, it makes a tiny bit of noise (regardless of how I plug straight in or not) when I crank the volume up but it’s very buzzy
Could it be the speaker or a valve?
Just tried the amp, and the sound worked for about a minute then died again and now it seems to working again after waiting a while...
Not sure what to do now

It could be, but try wiggling the input jack. It may have come loose from the board. What amp is it?

Engl ironball, I’ll order some valves as it still has the stock valves and get a tech to look at it

Yep, I'd start with the fuse & if that's still in tact then move to the tubes. My guess is I t's more likely than not one of those two things? Most of the "just died" situations I've been privy to have been fuses blowing but I have had power tubes go seemingly instantly too...

My prediction...
Faulty preamp tube.
I suspect that on some level current initially is still passing through. That's why you're hearing sound briefly at startup. After the tube fully heats something is caursing the current to stop flowing. Possible expansion of internal components.

If the amp is powering on I'm thinking the fuse is fine. A blown fuse would result in no power at all.

If you decide to change preamp tubes be absolutely sure you change one at a time and then try playing the amp to see if you find the bad tube. You always want to know which tube slot failed.
2nd---the other preamp tubes are most likely still good. At the very least you should keep them as spares.

Not if it's the H.T. fuses. It would be like the amp is in standby.

That's true, but a blown fuse would cause output to stop completely, rather than fading in and out AFAIK. With it working until the amp fully warms up before stopping I'd suspect a bad tube before a fuse.

I will order a full retube kit and take it to a tech who I’ll get to a hopefully clean bill of health

Does the amp have an effects loop?
If so, short patch cable to jump it out
Both my tube Belair and my solid state Laney did this with flakey jacks on the fx loop
