Noise gates.....

I have a BOSS NS-2 Noise Suppressor. Does this qualify as a noise gate? Because I am getting a Rocktron Intellifex unit and it has a built in HUSH noise gate, and I know using more than one noise gate can suck the life out of your tone. So should I ditch the NS-2 and use my TU-2 Tuner to power the rest of my pedals from now on?

I would actually play with both gates and see which one you like better... Just cause the intellifex has one doesnt mean you have to use it... Its been quite awhile since I have played an intellifex so what i do remember was that the gate worked but it tended to be a little over active cutting off notes and hard to get it to release. I like my boss NS-2 its not perfect but its decently transparent... easily tweakable... Another thing you may want to try is to use the Hush for your noise gate then use the NS-2 as a mute for changing guitars and stuff or as a extra loop if you still have floor pedals your using... just some ideas

i think you should hold on to the noise suppressor... i've tried it out and it works great and i'm a strong believer in separate stompboxes because i think that a stomp box doing its job on its own would be more dedicated to what its doing rather than to other things... but thats just a preference thing like edgecrusher said... try both of them out and see which on you prefer..

I've always liked the Boss NS-2, but I'm interested in what else is around, so I'll be putting mine up for sale. FWIW, it worked better and was tweaked easier than the Rocktron HUSH Super C I used to have.

yeah i think it does because on musiciansfriend it is under noise gates under the effects part.
