Noise supressor pedal causing volume swells?

Hello,

I recently got my dsl fixed, was having volume swelling issues. The issue appears to have started again tonight. When playing through the lead channel (with a lot of gain) sometimes when i'm playing it will get a volume swelling effect. I was thinking about it after jamming this evening and all i can think that changed within the past few days is the fact i'm using a noise suppressor. Can the swelling be a product of the noise suppressor?

I would plug in now and check it out myself but i've disconnected and everything has beennput away

The threshold of the noise suppressor is probably set too high. Try it without, and see if it goes away. If it does, then put the noise suppresor's threshold knob lower. It is a balancing act to get rid of noise and keep the attack of the notes.

I agree with Mincer... If the Noise Supressor is at fault the problem should go away without it. If it does, adjust your threshold setting to where it only engages when you stop playing.

A compressor that is set wrong can do this, too, but I've certainly heard noise suppressors do it.
