Noisy LP... pickup or wiring problem?

I have a new Seth Lover in the neck of my LP. It's not that noisy, a little bit more when I remove my hands from the strings. But with the bridge pickup, a pretty old DMZ SUper D, if I remove my hands of the strings, the hum is pretty high and touching the bridge or the screws makes a lot of noise.

I reviewed all connexions and I see nothing wrong in any of them.

Can it be the pickup? Can it be the pots? Pots were abused by many pickup changes and are pretty ugly with soldering stuff.

What are the steps to follow to correct this problem? If you can point me to any site to shield a LP, I'd be happy to learn more about it.

Thanks in advance!

Sounds to me like a combination of a poor ground connection and a high gain amplifier.

It is hard to say until you get in there and do some testing but probably spotty connections.

I had an issue a lot like that before that was due to grounding.
