It appears that eddie over at www.carlinoguitars.com just got in some new '06 Schecters, most of which are the Hellraiser Series which I just happen to have INSANE G.A.S. for!

I dunno man. Those Schecters look like they don't know what kind of guitar they want to be...but I guess that's the appeal. Every time i strum one it feels off to me.

If you don't like them dude, thats fine by me. I absolutly love them though!

i dunno, i like the black ones but that damn binding they choose to use on the red is so damn tacky looking IMO.

I decided to take the plunge and go for the Hellraiser FR if I can find one on ebay... I'll probably end up taking out the EMG pickups though and switching them for some Duncans most likely.. but my god that guitar is beautiful....

Then why is there a 6-string in your avatar?

I'm not that much a fan of the looks of Schecters. They look too much like an amalgamation of other brands. I bet if I put a Floyd Rose Trem on my Ibanez SZ I could pass it off as one of those red Schecters.

I'm not that much a fan of the looks of Schecters. They look too much like an amalgamation of other brands. I bet if I put a Floyd Rose Trem on my Ibanez SZ I could pass it off as a Schecter.

the kids got a point lol...the C series schecters did come first then the ibanez SZ which is about 85% the same.

lol well I learned about Ibanez before I learned about Schecter

Since I'm so accustomed to my Ibanez, it seems weird looking at the Schecters now because they're so similar. I bet if I had seen a Schecter before an Ibanez it would be different, but this is the way the cookie crumbled.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't most of these mahogany set neck guitars (LTD's, Schecters, Ibanez SZ, Washburn X series, etc) made at the same Korean factories?

^ I believe so. That probably explains why I also loved the Ibanez SZ series when I played one a couple years back.

As for the abalone binding, I've noticed there's a love/hate thing with it. Personally I love it paired with trans red and a good top, but with anything else I hate it.
