Not Using Valuable Board Space...

Okay, this started off as a parody thread, but there's a valid point here.

Am I the only one that's bugged by empty space on my pedalboard? It's like I know I could fit an extra pedal there, so ipso facto I need to buy another pedal. It's got to the point where if I know that I can make room buy rearranging certain pedal or only buying pedals of a certain size, I do it.

Am I alone in this?

I find that once the pedal board is filled up, I start eyeing up the surrounding floor space in a rather disconcerting manner. What's also rather worrying is the number of deliveries that have been stacking up for me back home...






....and I don't think I've finished yet :scared:

def not alone, man. for months ive been using a pedaltrain 2, always with two pedals hanging off to the side on the floor. Now that im about to upgrade to PT-PRO, im already thinking of any extra space beyond me fitting the two extra pedals on. if you have the space why not use it right? haha

ive reduced my board down to one pedal and no board at all. Im loving life.

I kind of wish I could get rid of a couple of pedals. But then I know I'd be trying to fill the space up with new ones.

Having been one of those guys, who at one time, would put every piece of crap that he could find on a pedalboard in the hopes that maybe he would find some use for it during the course of the evening, i'm here to tell you that you shouldn't worry about it. Empty space is cool. It means that you get what you want out of your system.

I pretty much have what I need on my board. I don't use a lot. Chorus, delay, OD, Wah, tuner. Done. BUT..... I do have my eye on the new 70th anniversary Hendrix pedals..... I may buy the whole set. If I do, I will have to reconsider my pedal layout and what/where I will place them...

I was thinking of something else though - what about getting a Lex instead, and finding a reverb unit like the Dr. Z Z Verb into one of the channels of my amp, and using the Lex to bi-amp the normal channel and bass channel?

That's probably overkill though - picking up a reverb unit means another trip in and out of anywhere I go... Would be cool for recording though. I'll be picking up a Blue Sky once I get my tax return.
