Re: Novelty guitar!

I havn't heard good things about olp... I guess I need to talk to more people.
Seems like a nice guitar, would need quite a bit of work if I bough it, new pups, pots, possibly new nuts and tuners, set up, frets filed....

I would definetly play one after I made my modifications to it.
Rock On :smoker:

Re: Novelty guitar!

yea.. got to see quite some of these.

tried the petrucci model.. i couldnt get **** out of that one.. so uncomfortable for me and it was set up poorly.. def wouldnt buy it from the 1st impression..

tried some cheap axis ones.. all meh.. not impressed from all that.. but shame that they dont carry lots of the USA stuff

Re: Novelty guitar!

The only time I've seen one of these is when I walked into this little music shop down in Irvine, and I while i was looking at it and recoiling in disgust at the cheap-looking fotoflame targetburst this dude comes up to me... imagine Danny Devito meets Devin Townsend plus 200 lbs... picks it up and starts rambling on about how it's a nice thing to buy if you can't drop for an ES1275. Then he can't reach the low fretbard cuz his huge gut is in the way and after readjusting the strap he proceeds to play the s**ttiest, most lame-ass, most hackneyed version of "Freebird" that I've ever heard.

I excused myself promptly and haven't been back.

Re: Novelty guitar!

OLP guitars need alot of work. The pickups I hear are OK, but they need all new hardware. It would end up being very expensive on that guitar
