Now this is good news . . .

Re: Now this is good news . . .

I really dig the black powdercoat. I think I need some pickups that look like that.

Re: Now this is good news . . .

The Black Powdercoat has been around for ages as a Shop Floor Custom. But it's cool to see it being highlighted, as I think it's one of the cleanest looks around.

The radiator/gold foil is my next choice...if only they'd offer THAT in the Black Powdercoat frame!!!

Re: Now this is good news . . .

I'd love that Nickel Boarder Tortoiseshell, but then pop out the tortoiseshell insert. That "partial" cover could be cool.

Re: Now this is good news . . .

I love it too, but not a fan of how the screws don't match

I think I may order a Distortion set in the black powder coat though, but with black screws to match.

Meh. I really just have my 335 as a humbucker guitar - and that looks fine with regular covers. All the rest have gone single coil. :P

Re: Now this is good news . . .

Love to put those black powder covers over my APH set. Wonder when you can order some?

Re: Now this is good news . . .

I noticed these a few days ago myself. They're pretty sweet. If I had a second axe for a goldfoil bridge pickup I'd probably get one

Re: Now this is good news . . .

Am I wrong that these aren't available for all pup models, but only a select few? And it would be sweet if they were sold as an add-on accessory.

This.

Also, are they available in either regular and trembucker spacing?

From Seymour Duncan, it appears that way. But, the open covers have been around in the accessory market for a while. Here's a site selling them for $10 each. https://www.philadelphialuthiertool...ker/open-style-humbucker-pickup-cover-chrome/

Same website has radiator-style and Filtertron-style covers for humbuckers, too.

Re: Now this is good news . . .

I also like the matte black bobbins. I think all black pickups look better that way.

Re: Now this is good news . . .

Black powdercoat is definitely cool, killer for a guitar with black hardware.
I like the 60s radiator/gold screen look a lot too.

I wonder if they'll sell the covers separately for those of us who already have more pickups than we need?
