Did I read that right? The guy that sold you possibly the most expensive guitar in the shop told you to turn down when you were demoing more gear to buy?

I'd've gotten "my guy" to lemme move it into a sep room,& still tried to tank teh salesguy...

THAT guy plugged me into a Silver Jubilee head labeled 'don't touch' and hit it through a 1960 cab….

I should have went outside, played electric loud enough to piss old acoustic dude off…

I seen sales jerks pushing stuff or overstating stuff and if they leave the person alone a few min, I clue em in.. I dont want to be a dolt and take money outta someones pocket, but I also dont want to see a newbie or someone buying a gift or something, get rooked.
Related, but not.. Went to a charity auction the other day.. They were auctioning off a Bolt on neck Epi LP, autographed by Skynyrd. It had come in a Gibson box. He kept trying to pump everyone up for $3-4k bids for this GIBSON LP autographed.. no one was biting.. I got mad and yelled "its an EPIphone !" people cheered, wife slid under the table...

I spent some quality time pissing off the old acoustic fart at Sam Ash today. Well worth the bother. The 12st sim in my Zoom A2 sucks. This thing is pretty darn good. Nothing beats a real 12, but if you don't have space, etc….

It's a pretty cool sound. These clips don't do it justice.

Acoustic or electric? Hell, some sober people can't even tell if what they're hearing is a clean electric guitar or a keyboard or piano.

If I see a salesman being a complete ass to a beginner, I'd speak up. Let them kick me out be pissy - if they do, then they lost my sale in addition to the beginner's sale. On the contrary, if I think a salesman is being really cool even if they're not helping me, I'll let them know. Reward good deeds, and stand up when someone is being a doosh.

It was just the utter stupidity of his statement "Turn the amp down so I can hear the effect"

No dumb@$$ - I turn the amp down all I'll hear is the actual acoustic from the sound hole.
