NPD, click click tweak tweak tweak - pretty much everyone has one

I'm having fun with my Egnator Tweaker head, flippin' switches and tweakin knobs on my pedals, click click goes the footswitch! Pretty much everyone has one already, so you probably have your own opinions on the TweakFuzz by Seymour Duncan, but I'm liking it.

It's got a cool mix of smooth Big Muff style fuzz and square wave Fuzz Face style sounds... I know there's a volume mod out there, but I find it just fine to match my clean volume as-is. The bad is that there's not so great note separation between strings and the higher strings get drown out by the fundamental notes of a chord when played through the TweakFuzz. But, leads sound nice and punchy.

Guitar Center doesn't stock them anymore, and I guess SD is discontinuing them or something so they're blowing them out for $39.99 - get one while you can!!!

Still working on the pedalboard LOL - will order the loop material soon and attach it with some 3M spray adhesive. As you can see above I have more wire and connectors to make cables, and the hook sticker for pedal bottoms.

AND, it's like Hannukah..... I'm gettin' 2 more tomorrow on a trade with MetalManiac (a Landgraff TS808 clone and a Digitech whammy)

Re: NPD, click click tweak tweak tweak - pretty much everyone has one

I had a Tweak Fuzz for a few minutes. I flipped it pretty quickly, it didn't do anything for me personally and actually turned me off of fuzz pedals for a while. I tried a Lovepedal 200lbs a couple of years later, it was better but I still felt "meh" towards it. Fast forward a couple more years to a couple of weeks ago when I picked up a Skreddy Lunar Module. I had read how great it sounds and how versatile it is so I took a shot. It impressed me pretty quickly.

meh it's ok but there are a lot of fuzz pedals I prefer to it, I turned it over because it just didn't really cling to me.

much happier with my Voodoo Lab Superfuzz, Fulltone 69, and I'm hoping to get some kind of Big Muff Pi and Fulltone Soul Bender in the future.

Ya gotta do the volume mod. Do the volume mod to the Tweak Fuzz, and it turns a good pedal into a great pedal.
BTW..Jolly Rodger..are you Jewish man? ReallY ? Cool. I'm an Al-Catholic man! Thats pretty cool.

does the volume mod actually change the character of the pedal though? Because I tried the pedal and got the general vibe, and while it's not awful there are better pedals for not much more.

LOL I wasn't neccessarily saying I'm Jewish, just that getting pedals two days in a row was like the Hannukah celebratory tradition where you give and receive presents for 8 nights in a row. By the way, what does Al-Catholic mean? I tried googling it.....

+1 to your ?? .......... better fuzz for nearly $40?? There's a used Big Muff Pi USA for $60 but that's used.

Re: NPD, click click tweak tweak tweak - pretty much everyone has one

the tweak fuzz originally sold for $100, so I'm pretty sure most people will compare it to other $100 pedals (it's $40 because it's being blown out). I guess at $40 it's way better than the behringer pedals it's competing with. But for anyone with a decent pedal collection or knowledge of fuzzes it doesn't really hold a candle.

I used to have a Tweak Fuzz too and I just never fell in love. I agree with PRSfan the Fulltone fuzzes are the money and I too like the Voodoo Lab Superfuzz.

Personally I'd rather just invest more money and get a more useable pedal. I'm glad you like your tweak fuzz but there are obviously a lot of people that just thought it was blah. I had a guitar teacher that thought the same way I did about it should've learned from his experience before blowing my own money on one.

I

Not true. With the volume mod, the Tweak fuzz is a monster fuzz, and one of the best ones i"ve heard ( on clips) . I want to do the volume mod. It just puts the Tweak fuzz as raunchy and edgy in a good way as could be.
Guys who have done the Tweak Fuzz mod pitch in please.

Just because I start a thread about it doesn't mean I'm 100% singing praises about it.

Re: NPD, click click tweak tweak tweak - pretty much everyone has one

great you like the pedal....fantastic.....you still can't deny that their are other people that share my views (and not everyone likes to mod everything they own, not good for resale value and it voids your warranty I only mod pedals that I either buy used or that have an expired warranty).

You also can't deny that their are other fuzzes available that are higher quality. I like Duncan pedals, Boss pedals, and some others that are nice pedals but they aren't the greatest.

You are entitled to liking the tweak fuzz as much as I am to going meh about it because it's nothing special.
