I got a new pickup, the Dimarzio Injector bridge. I love it. I got it because I liked that it sounded like a single coil but can perform the way I want it to with a variety of gain.
I haven't put it through all its paces and really cranked my amps, but so far it seems to me that it can do the cleans nicely, the edge of breakup nice, rock is awesome, metal is awesome, 80s metal awesome, and super high gain awesome. All good up and down the neck especially the high notes clean and clear. It kinda sounds like a humbucker but also sounds like a single coil if you lower the volume on the guitar.
It replaced a SD SSL-6. In comparison the SSL-6 sound more authentic strat and has more piercing highs and jangle. It was kinda sissy at clean and kinda messy at super high gain. It was good at all else in between. The SSL-6 is also incompatible with my guitar's dummy coil noise canceling and it was noisy as heck. sorry SD.
Guitar: 97 Fender Powerhouse Stratocaster. Neck and middle pickups are stock.
amp: Vox AC15, Orange Jim root Terror
