i pulled the trigger and got the crybaby from hell, it was at 40% off it's list price

also i found this power surge supressor on a second-hand shop at 10 bucks, i finally pluged it now i can send thunders to f*** o** 'cause they now won't gonna damage my gear

Lightning is faster than 99% of all 'surge' protection and is most certainly faster than 10 Dollars worth.

Re: NPD from hell!!!!!!!!!

well, it seems that i failed at being funny with that last line

the surge was cheap 'cause it's old and the guys in the second-hand shop didn't know what it was exactly

Re: NPD from hell!!!!!!!!!

AWESOME pedal boar - I mean, random collection of scraggly wires.

Hey - how is that Behringer noise gate?

Re: NPD from hell!!!!!!!!!

ya guys re da worst! haha

Trip over the cables.
Concuss yo'self.
Care not one jot when the electrical surge hits.

Ranting thunders.
Travel through yo head.
From a broken plastic case.

and the Behringer noise gate, definetly isn't an isp decimator, but gets the work done, for the moment it can clean most noises out of your signal it also cuts sustain, that's the only reason i had my od in front of it, also the tone loss isn't so terrible, is very slight, but there is it, having a buffered something in front of it helps a lot, if you lack money enough for a good gate, buy it, if you can save on a pair of months, go for something better

You should plug the guitar straight in to the gate input for a few reasons.

If you have a pedal that generates a medium to high amount of noise when on (ie: many OD/Dist/Fuzz pedals), and said pedal is placed BEFORE the gate's input, this noise becomes part of the signal that the noise gate controls.
Sure, you can simply turn up the threshold, but you also want the threshold to be low enough to let the signal through if you play very quietly.
With just one or two noisy pedals in the chain it can be impossible to find that balance.
So in other words, the more stuff you have BEFORE the gate, the higher your threshold & decay settings will be, thereby cutting your sustain & decreasing the amount of your incoming guitar signal.
By plugging your guitar straight in to the gate, the gate gets the best sense of what is SUPPOSED to be audible, and what is noise.

My $.02 FWIW.

thanks dude, but the od is very silent, so there is no noise boost when i engage it, just the damn eq, also the od on the loop was my original setting, but outside the loop it gives loki 3 extra secs of sustain, wich i found really usefull with slow groove riffing

Re: NPD from hell!!!!!!!!!

my ge7 used to make a lot of noise too, then I had it modded and its very quiet now, no noise at all.

Re: NPD from hell!!!!!!!!!

well, i soldered the electronics on my guitar by miself, and besides the paralell series switch everything else looks like it came out of an usa factory, so i guess i'm ok, i will look, wich kit is better? or any one is good?

Dude. I've never tried that, but that seriously sounds brilliant.

just take a look, its not an easy job. I had someone do it for me, I think it will be more than 30 solder joints
