NPD Fulltone.

SlyFoxx

Glossless
My first Fulltone pedal and to steal a phrase from Fee Waybill, "She's a beauty."

It's their latest Uni-Vibe clone the MDV-3. Built like a tank and it came with power supply which is a nice touch. Lots of swirly goodness to be had and used in conjunction with my Hartman flanger ...well shudapp and pass the peyote don't 'cha know. The thing just became available. Looks like I got #45.

EDIT: Short clip further down.

Re: NPD Fulltone.

I think that's the best univibe foot rocker idea yet. I am gassing hard for one of these!

Re: NPD Fulltone.

Cool pedal, I hope you enjoy it!

That said the bypass on the MDV-2 was much better IMHO...that cut out with a click switch is not easy to use in the heat of the moment where the MDV2 was but you had to fiddle to find the speed you wanted and some folks didn't care for that.

However, I am still using my MDV (no treadle at all!) so you're ahead of me for sure!!!

Re: NPD Fulltone.

Cool. I didn't know they had this in the works.

I used to live a few blocks from Fulltone when Mike Fuller started in his guest house. I think I had one of the first orange FDII's ever made. I really wish I'd never sold that. I've used a lot of Fulltone pedals over the years, so it's safe to say they're probably my favorite pedal company. Everything is always of the utmost quality.

Re: NPD Fulltone.

OK just a real quick and dirty sample. Not studio quality but you get the idea.

"Bit of a Floydy thing"? That was damn near half of side one!

Sounds pretty good, though I'd have turned the intensity up a touch for that piece. Are you planning any longer clips with other settings?

Re: NPD Fulltone.

I could do some more clips tomorrow. The reason I bought the thing in the first place was for that sound.

One thing I did learn right away is that it didn't work well placed before my tiny board of Boss Tuner--->Hartman Flanger----> Boss Delay. Even with the volume up all the way it suffered from tone suck and heavy volume drop. But placed after the others boxes worked just fine. I was thinking of adding a TS9 before the MDV3 and after to see how pre and post distortion fare but the performance pre MDV3 is now suspect. I've got two TS9's so I'll give that a whirl tomorrow.

Re: NPD Fulltone.

That's such a cool effect and I still struggle to grasp how to use mod effects. Less is more for sure!
