So I've succumbed once again to the nostalgic allure of pedals I had when I was in high school. I sold the first of these when I was in college and not playing. I got rid of one about two years ago when I was trying to trim down to an "essential" number of pedals (*snicker*). It was noisy, and the footswitch was flaky. It didn't have a place in a tight pedal collection.

Now that I'm back to buying pedals just for something to do, I realize that I need to have one of these pedals.

And so:

So the BD didn't cut it as a chorus?

The Blues Driver? It was okay, but I was hoping to get more depth out of it. The off-label usage of pedals appears to have its limitations.

Re: NPD: Ibanez Soundtank Chorus

I have said it many times - DELAY is THE most important control on a chorus pedal. That has it. you win!

(PS - you are not the only one who is attempting to use Ebay to rebuild their childhood gear rig....)

Re: NPD: Ibanez Soundtank Chorus

I love Soundtanks so much I just ordered two more for parts and modifying practice. I think I'm going to try the capacitor mod for the footswitch. I got a TL5 tremolo and an FZ5 60's Fuzz.

You know, it's hard to win with a pedal that won't turn off and on reliably. That said, I wasn't worried about how good a chorus it was. I already have a Boss CH-1 and a Radial Vienna Chorus. I just wanted one.

I have an old Soundtank Compressor that suffers from the same problem. Works okay but I just use it for my bass where I can just leave it on all the time.

The BP5? That's IME actually quite nice and yes, given that it's comp you can just leave it on.

Harder to do with chorus unless you're the cure [emoji23] I guess you could put it in a loop if you really wanted.

It always comes down to the 805. I wish somebody near me carried Duncan pedals.
