I aquired a new limited run Fairfield Circuitry Shallow Water. What makes this one special is instead of a plain metal enclosure they set this one on fire.
I occasionally see these on Reverb and they intrigue me, but I saw the really cool finish on this one at a good price and knew I had to grab it. The card it comes with is a picture of every one in the run. So needless to say, there is quite a bit of variation to them.
For those who don't know what they are. It's something adjacent to a chorus, vibrato, or a flanger. The parameters are modified by a pseudorandom "k generator" (whatever that means) so that each waveform is unique and it sounds more like a natural oscillation than a machine generated one. The second thing that makes it unique is that it also has a low pass gate that I'm told is more complicated than that. Makes the playing a lot more expressive.
I haven't given it a try yet because I'm tied up in a home project, but I'll report back later this evening.
