NPD: Mooer Flex Boost

I just got this in from pedaltrader.com. It's a clone of the AC Booster, so really light gain boost.

I played with it a bit this afternoon, there's a lot more gain there than I thought there would be. There's honestly enough that I could use it as a dirt pedal if I cranked it up, which surprised me. As a boost, it seemed like it can get really clean, or have just a bit of hair on it. I'm taking it to my CD release party tonight, so I'll be giving it a trial by fire!

Pics and mo(o)er comments about it after the show.

Re: NPD: Mooer Flex Boost

After playing with it last night, I'll definitely be keeping this one around for a while. It's very sensitive to pick attack. With the gain around 10 o'clock and the volume around 2 or 3 o'clock, I could get a little bit extra grit by picking hard, or keep it clean by picking softly. It fits in perfectly as a boost on 4-5 songs in our set list, and I may work it into a few more too.

Re: NPD: Mooer Flex Boost

Though that's not one I've tried (don't need one as I have an AC Booster), I do have three of the Mooer micro-pedals now and have been very impressed with them so far. Great value for money and minimal footprint.

Re: NPD: Mooer Flex Boost

I've got three on my board now, counting the Flex. I also have the Trellicopter and the Hustle Drive. I've been thinking about getting one of the analog delays, the Flanger and maybe the Green Mile or Cruncher.

Re: NPD: Mooer Flex Boost

I have the reecho and the Flexboost.

I think both are great values and sound good for the coin. JThe Flexboost is a fantastic clean boost, but I do not really need it now, and am looking for OD and distortions for my new amp.

Reecho, I find the analog setting a very poor imitation,.and the "natural" echo is pretty bad too. The Tape echo sim is by far the best sounding and is decent and usable but it is a pretty poor imitation of a real tape delay as well..just like your typical L6 or other model of a tape echo.. my memory toy was a better, more organic sounding pedal. If the Reecho was over $100 I would likely have sent it back, but for what it cost I cannot complain too much.
