Musician's Friend featured the T Rex Bloody Mary as their Stupid Deal one day last week, and I ordered one. It arrived yesterday.
Cool box! I mean the box that the pedal came in. I'm not sure what to make of the pedal. It comes in a coffin shaped box with a grim reaper on the front, with red swirls around him.
Does anyone else here have a Bloody Mary? I am not completely sure mine works right. It does not at all sound like a high gain tube rig. It sounds more like a Big Muff or some high gain fuzz pedal. To me, rather than evoking Metallica or Dream Theater, I think it sounds much more like Smashing Pumpkins or some 90's alt-rock band.
When I first hooked it up and hit a note, I didn't hear anything. A little sputtering and then it came to life. That and the fuzzy gain make me wonder if it's actually supposed to sound like that. I've watched the online demos and it doesn't have that flabby fuzz tone sound on those.
Thanks for any help.
